Tzu Chi Sponsors
Tzu Chi Canada is mostly run and managed by volunteers. To help the needy, these members give whatever they can – some are regular monthly donors, others donate their time and help out in activities, while others love the growth opportunities they find within the organization. Members participate in Tzu Chi activities to learn together, cultivate their own hearts, realize their potential, and understand how they work with others. Most importantly, members come to foster their own spiritual growth.
Ways You Can Help
Donating money. Regular donations from members fuel the organization. Regular or irregular, all funds are appreciated as long as they come from the heart. These small donations are then pooled together as a symbol of unity, since everyone has a chance to contribute. The small donations of many are more important than one large donation from an individual, because having more people helping means that more hearts are purified through the act of donating.
Volunteering time. Without their dedicated volunteers, Tzu Chi Canada would not be able to function or accomplish any of its missions. These volunteers choose to spend countless hours helping others, rather than indulging in actions that may only benefit themselves. For example, they assist with administrative tasks, computer-related work, or even through career-related fields such as teaching, medicine, business, environment protection, public relations, construction, etc. Whatever the field, there will always be room where everyone’s skills can be harnessed.
Spreading the principles and cultivating people’s hearts. En route to its 40th year, Tzu Chi continues to spread the seed of love through its members. By establishing the discipline within their own hearts, members share these great teachings with others to extend the spirit of love and joy. Because of such selfless acts, Tzu Chi has grown far from its birthplace Taiwan and reached as far as Canada. It now has chapters in Vancouver, Toronto, Mississauga, Ottawa, Montreal and Calgary.
Connecting people. Do you believe in what Tzu Chi does? Do you know any talented individuals who could help us? Or perhaps, do you know of people in need of our assistance? Tzu Chi is very thankful for each person that comes, whether in need of help or ready to offer help. It is through these opportunities that more people get the chance to contribute and discover the joy of selfless giving. By connecting us with somebody you know, you could make a great difference.
